Thanks new Job! Kimberly referred Kiki for the role of ESG Reporting Manager

Gepubliceerd op 10 February 2025

Almost 25% of our new colleagues choose a job at Essent because of the enthusiastic stories from friends and former colleagues who now work here. In Thanks New Job, we highlight a successful referral recruitment every time. This time, it’s Kiki Verhagen who thanks Kimberly Koppers for her new role as ESG Reporting Manager.

How do you know each other?

Kimberly: “Kiki and I both worked at Bol. But before that, we already knew each other through mutual connections. We’re both from ’s-Hertogenbosch and because we have overlapping circles, we occasionally ran into each other privately.”

Kiki: “We worked in different departments at our previous employer, but through HR activities, we saw each other regularly.”

Why did you think of Kiki for the ESG Reporting Manager role?

Kimberly: “Well, actually, Kiki thought of it herself. She saw the job posting and sent me a message because she knew I had already made the move to Essent.”

Kiki: “It’s really nice to be able to bounce ideas off someone who already knows the company. Through Kimberly, I got a good picture of the organization. She told me why she’s so happy there and what Essent is like as an employer. That sounded great.”

What appealed to you?

Kiki: “Essent is an organization that is making strides in the energy transition. It feels good to contribute to that societal goal. You’re working toward a sustainable future. Also, of course, I heard from Kimberly that Essent is a great employer. We were used to that at our previous employer as well, but it’s an important factor for me when making a move.”

Kimberly: “I told her that Essent really values its employees and shows it. And, what’s great for both Kiki and me: the commute. We both live in ’s-Hertogenbosch, so we never have to deal with traffic jams. You just hop on your bike and know exactly when you’ll be at the office and when you’ll be home. How nice is that?”

What are your roles at Essent?

Kimberly: “I’ve just started a new role as Product Owner Loyalty & Profiles. I’m the connecting link between the business, the customer, and IT. My team focuses on continuously improving our loyalty programs and customer profiles. This way, we turn customers into fans.

Kiki: “I have a new role as ESG (Environment Social Governance) Reporting Manager. Due to European legislation, more and more companies are now required to report not only financial information but also the impact of their activities on people and the environment. I’m co-responsible for that. I had already done some of this reporting before, but I wanted to focus completely on it and dive deeper into the subject. At Essent, I saw the opportunity to do just that!”

So, are you happy with your move, Kiki?

Kiki: “Yes! I’ve only just started, but I’m already really enjoying it, and I find plenty of challenge in my new role.”

Did you know about the referral bonus when you referred Kiki, Kimberly?

Kimberly: “Yes, it’s really promoted! There are all sorts of giveaways, and I read the stories from colleagues. It’s not that I actively look for referral candidates, but I think it’s great that Essent is actively involved in this. Employees can truly tell how a company is. That’s really valuable. And for candidates, it’s nice to have an entry point. The bonus, of course, is a nice extra.”

What did you do with the bonus?

Kimberly: “I’m moving, so I can definitely put that bonus to good use!”
