As Risk Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that Vandebron grows responsibly and sustainably. You’ll be the go-to person for all things related to risk — from maintaining and improving our risk management framework to advising on strategic projects and regulatory obligations. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the entire risk management function — shaping, expanding, and embedding it further into the business. You’ll have a high level of autonomy while working closely with leadership to keep Vandebron resilient in a fast-changing energy market.

What you will do:

  • Maintain and further implement Vandebron’s risk management framework.
  • Raise awareness about risk management across all departments.
  • Prepare and present the quarterly LERCO risk report, reporting on Vandebron’s risk appetite and several risk categories.
  • Provide proactive input on risk and mitigation strategies for projects, incidents, and business decisions.
  • Take ownership of business resilience, including incident processes and crisis management.
  • Conduct risk analyses across various topics to strengthen business operations.
  • Implement and monitor risk management obligations from regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as point of contact for risk management colleagues at Essent/E.ON (our parent companies), handling their requests and obligations.
You are Essent
  • A university degree, preferably in Risk Management, Finance, or a similar field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in risk management, ideally within a Dutch organization.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry (energy, telecom, banking, fintech, or insurance) or a dynamic environment.
We offer you
  • A salary based on your experience between €5,000,- and €6,250,- gross per month, excluding holiday allowance, based on 40 hours per week.
  • An annual bonus based on company performance.

  • Work abroad for up to 6 weeks per year (max 4 consecutive weeks, including up to 4 outside the EU).
  • A sabbatical after 3 years (1 month paid + holidays, 2 unpaid).
