Medior DevOps Engineer System Team

You maintain and develop guiding principles regarding development standards. You help your team to be successful and train and guide less experienced colleagues.

Job description

With the mindset of a team player, and the determination of a true entrepreneur, your role as a DevOps Engineer System Team involves taking responsibility for:

  • Translating business needs to functional and technical specs on team level
  • Working closely with Engineers to assure all systems are in line with long-term architectural strategy
  • Developing and operationalizing IT solutions to meet business requirements
  • Ensuring developed products meets quality standards
  • Building automated deployment pipelines
  • Solving production incidents (24/7 when needed)

You'll join the Shared Services department. The Medior DevOps Engineer can have a role of Competence Lead. In this role he/she can be delegated on behalf of the manager Platform and Automation to perform people and performance management tasks, and coach a group of peers. This role can also bring the responsibility to set-up and steer a Competence (cross-department) based on technology expertise.

  • Academic work and thinking level (BSc.) with background in engineering, informatics, business informatics or equivalent technical field
  • Strong knowledge of Git Version Control System
  • Knowledge on at least one CICD tooling like Gitlab CICD/Octopus Deploy/Artifactory/Xray/SonarQube
  • Knowledge on at least one scripting languages like Shell, Python, JavaScript
  • Experience with End2End monitoring is a big plus (preferably with AppDynamics)
  • Knowledge on Containerization technologies like Docker/Kubernetes
  • Apart from the above mentioned skills, candidate must be ready to explore and learn new skills and should have a drive to continuously improve and innovate
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing, developing, testing and/or deploying applications using proven or emerging technologies, in a variety of technologies and environments. Preferably in a commercial organization
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand business needs, and develop solutions with the end consumer in mind
  • Able to communicate in English fluently. Dutch is important and German a plus. Able to work with various cultures
