The TMI platform (TypeScript, Monorepo & Integration) forms the backbone of our serverless back-end services on AWS. Platform TypeScript Engineer

As a TypeScript Platform Engineer, you can play a major role in this by supporting our engineers and enabling them to do their work as well and as smartly as possible.

We make it happen by performing better every day than the day before. As a Platform TypeScript Engineer, you take responsibility for:

  • Developing and further evolving the TMI TypeScript platform
  • Building and improving developer tooling, such as generators and libraries
  • Optimizing monorepo performance and developer experienceIntroducing new technical capabilities, such as data streaming solutions
  • Supporting and strengthening the community of backend engineers

You will strengthen the TMI team within the Essent IT department. Colleagues working as platform engineers and DevOps engineers join forces to increase developer productivity and scalability. You are Essent

You can solve our challenges if you recognize yourself in most of the points below:

  • At least 5 years of experience with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Experience developing developer tooling such as scripts, task executors, or code generation
  • Experience with monorepos and tools such as NX, Turborepo or Rush Comfortable working cloud-native (preferably AWS)
  • Proactive in key areas such as roadmapping, solutioning, migrations, and designing and implementing new features
  • Affinity with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab pipelines or GitHub Actions
  • You get energy from working with a community of engineers as well as providing one-on-one support

The ideal candidate for this role has strong analytical skills, thinks in solutions, and gains energy from helping and advising others.
