Only together we can take the next step in energy. As a Senior Platform Engineer Observability, you are the expert in your field in:
- Designing & Implementing Observability Pipelines: Crafting scalable and cost-effective data ingestion pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces from diverse AWS accounts into our central New Relic platform
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Development: Developing modular, reusable, and generic OpenTofu (Terraform) modules to automate the deployment of observability infrastructure across our AWS environments
- Data Processing & Transformation: Building and maintaining data processors, primarily in Python, to transform, filter, and enrich telemetry data for optimal ingestion and analysis, including the calculation of DORA metrics.
- Cross-Account Integrations: Engineering seamless and secure data flows between our feature teams' AWS accounts and our central monitoring infrastructure
- Building Reusable Assets: Creating standardized "building blocks" and reusable assets that empower development teams to easily integrate their applications with our observability platform
- Ensuring Platform Reliability: Maintaining and continuously improving our existing observability infrastructure, focusing on performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Driving Observability Best Practices: Advocating for and implementing effective monitoring, logging, and tracing strategies across the organization, and documenting our approaches in our developer portal
- Working closely together with other engineering teams to increase their observability maturity
Gustavo Martins, Engineering Manager: “In this position, you are part of the I Empower Agile Release Train. Together we create insights for our developer colleagues. Those insights include observability metrics, logs and tracing, lifecycle management, DORA metrics, application’s health status, cost and technical debt. Our team has an entrepreneurial drive as we build the solution from scratch and collaborate closely with the DevOps Teams within Essent."
