Manager Risk, Security & Insurance

As Manager Risk, Security & Insurance, you are the lead Risk Business Partner within Essent and a key member of the Management Team Risk, Accounting & Controlling (RAC). You’ll lead a divers team of 6 specialist and together  you ensure that risk management is embedded across the organization in a pragmatic and effective way. You enable fact-based decision-making, strengthen governance, and help translate strategy into execution while safeguarding continuity, compliance and resilience.

In your position as Manager Risk, Security & Insurance you have the end-to-end ownership of Risk Management processes within the Essent Group. You are accountable for the governance, development and execution of risk management processes across all Dutch Essent entities, including: 

  • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Governing and facilitating ERM processes, advising and challenging the business, and ensuring risks and opportunities are identified, assessed and managed in line with strategy. Further develop and embed ERM in line with ISO standards and COSO ERM. 
  • Internal Control System (ICS): Governing, advising and overseeing the ICS, including issue management, monitoring remediation progress and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. 
  • Business Continuity Management (BCM): Ensuring robust BCM frameworks are in place, tested and aligned with business priorities. 
  • Insurance & Claim Management: End-to-end responsibility for insurance policies, claims handling and optimization of coverage and risk financing. 
  • Lead the annual Strategic Risk Assessment together with the Strategic Leadership Team. 
  • Quality Management: Building up a new QM function to establish quality management processes in the Essent Group and advise the business areas.  

And you will drive organization-wide risk communication & knowledge building: 

  • Strengthen risk awareness and business partnering across the organization: Lead and shape an organization-wide risk community approach, connecting first- and second-line risk specialists and consultants. Focus on culture building in the community.  
  • Drive the further optimization of risk governance, policies and decision-making structures. 
  • Be the counterpart from Essent to the E.ON Group risk and ICS functions.

  • An academic degree in Business Economics, Finance, Audit, Risk management or a related field 
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in the finance area, preferably in risk management or audit 
  • More than 2 years of management experience  
  • Proven experience in functional steering of multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams 
  • Demonstrable experience working in dynamic, project-driven environments 
  • Professional proficiency in Dutch and English
